- Carbon Monoxide (CO): Due to the heterogeneous nature of biomass (variations in size, moisture, and calorific value), incomplete combustion may occur, increasing CO emissions. Optimized furnace design, precise air-fuel ratio control, and tailored flue gas treatment systems are essential.
- VOCs, Dioxins, and Furans: These compounds may form under unstable combustion conditions or low temperatures. Depending on toxicity levels, PTFE bag filters rated up to 260°C or catalized ceramic fibers filters may be used to neutralize harmful gases, especially when maintaining combustion temperatures above 850°C.
