Acrylic Filter Material
What is Acrylic?
The popular Acrylic material is Acrylic Homo Polymer, which is basically made of 100% Acrylonitrile.
There are two types of Acrylic material with different chemical formulas, Homo Polymer and Co Polymer with Methyl Acrylate. The illustration below shows that Homo Acrylic is significantly better in high temperature (170ºC) and Oxidation (when exposed to air for a long time continuously for 4 hours).
Main features of PPS filter material
Advantages:
- Acrylic bags are classified in the type of high temperature resistant dust filter bags, capable of continuous operation at 120ºC , peak temperature at 150ºC.
- The most outstanding ability of Acrylic material is excellent chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance is much better than other heat-resistant materials.
- With its hydrolytic feature, Acrylic can be treated with enhanced liquid resistance, to reduce the tendency for dust cake to adhere due to moisture or oil.
- As a synthetic fiber, Acrylic can be combined with anti-static steel fiber to prevent the risk of fire and explosion due to static electricity.
Disadvantages:
- Acrylic fibers are quite sensitive to residual Oxygen concentrations in exhaust gas. At high temperatures, Oxidation reduces the mechanical strength of Acrylic fibers. Therefore, for dust filtration applications with Oxygen concentrations above 10% Vol, Acrylic is not suitable for use.

Structure of Acrylic Dust Filter Bag
Tan Thanh produce based on the customer’s dimensions requirements. Before production, the technician will survey, measure and take samples, ensuring that the filter bag after installation fits properly and does not leak dust.
- Bag body: Covered with glue to prevent fine dust from passing through and increase the bag’s lifespan.
- Bag mouth: Elastic steel ring is the most common type – Stainless steel (SUS 304).
- Bottom of the bag: Reinforced with two layers of both the foot and bottom of the bag.
- Sewing thread: 100% high strength PTFE.
- Bag dimension: Common with diameter D135 – 165 (mm), length from 1,000 – 7,000 (mm).
