Pulse Valve
In Tan Thanh’s product catalog, pulse valves, also known as pneumatic pulse dust removal valves, are an indispensable important device in dust collection systems using fabric bag filters and cartridge filters. They help provide powerful pulse air streams to remove dirt stuck on the filters, maintaining the working efficiency of the dust collection system.
Introducing genuine valve product lines:
ASCO Valve (Germany)
FINETEK Valve (Taiwan)
SBFEC Valve (China)
TAEHA Valve (Korea)
There are many ways to classify dust removal valves, in the dust removal valve product catalogs commonly seen as follows.
Classification of pulse valves by structure and pipe connection
Tan Thanh provides diaphragm pulse valves with dust removal function, usually in the following types:
- Angle valve (air inlet and air outlet form a 90 degree right angle).
- Straight valve (air inlet/outlet lines are in line).
- Valve integrated with compressed air tank.
For angle and straight valves:
There are 2 common types of dust removal valve connections to compressed air distribution pipes as follows:
1. Thread connection: This type of valve has an internal threaded mouth to connect to the external threaded pipe end, which can be screwed together. To ensure tightness, use an additional accessory which is a rubber gasket adjustment belt.
Threaded valves are suitable for a system design that requires fixed and precise installation, with little maintenance.
2. Connection by coupling: This type of valve is equipped with 2 sets of couplings at the 2 valve mouths. The coupling is used to quickly connect the valve mouth to the pipe end without threads. The coupling uses a conical rubber compression gasket to make a tight fit inside and a nut to tighten on the outside, making installation very easy and quick, flexible in any position.
Valves with couplings are suitable for systems that require more maintenance than threaded valves.
Currently, the brands that produce diaphragm pulse valves such as ASCO (Germany), TAEHA (Korea), FINETEK (Taiwan), SBFEC (China), … distributed by Tan Thanh, all have 2 product lines according to the structure and popular connection methods as above. Recently, ASCO has had a different pipe connection technique as follows:
– Quick Mount Clamp: ASCO’s new generation pulse valve is equipped with a quick mount clamp. The quick mount clamp design has eliminated screw threading techniques as well as nut joints, helping to save a lot of effort in valve installation, increasing installation speed, and being more flexible in all positions. The pipe connection style called “Quick Mount Clamp Connection” by ASCO has been patented, and Tan Thanh is the official distributor in the Vietnamese market.
Quick-mount clamps are used for angle valves, pneumatic tube ends of submerged valves integrated with compressed air tanks, with the general purpose of making the connection between the valve and the compressed air tube quicker and easier.
For valve and tube systems integrated in compressed air tanks:
– Valve system integrated in compressed air tanks: Dust removal valves integrated into a compressed air tank are a solution for connecting synchronous equipment, “Manifold” style, in which the valve and tube are recessed inside the compressed air tank. Depending on the type of valve and size of the compressed air tank, the number of valves is at least 02 or more, dividing a certain distance between the valves, along the length of the compressed air tank.
This design not only helps eliminate the connection types with compressed air tanks using screw threads or joints, but also has better flow, prevents air leakage to reduce pressure, suitable for conditions of relatively low pressure of the air source.
– Connecting compressed air tanks: Each compressed air tank has a standard length (depending on each manufacturer) and is designed to connect the tanks in a straight line, increasing the total compressed air volume for the dust collection system.
Classification by valve control method
Classification by direct or indirect dust valve control method, including:
1. Electromagnetic pulse valve: This is a valve with an integrated solenoid coil that directly controls opening and closing, mounted on the valve cover. Because it is electrically controlled, in the operating environment it is necessary to maintain pressure, the air has the potential for dust to cause explosions, so solenoid valve manufacturers are required to comply with:
- Safety standards for fire prevention and explosion, electrical safety, heat resistance and high pressure resistance, there may be separate mandatory standards for each market and country: EC Directives; CE, CE/UL, UKCA, EAC, Ex NEPSI, CEP standards, …
- Dust and water protection IP or NEMA.
2. Remotely controlled pulse valve: This is a type of valve that is remotely controlled to open the valve diaphragm (normally closed valve), through a pneumatic pipe line attached to a hole on the top of the valve cover, opening and closing without using electricity. The valve is certified to meet CE standards, or has other appropriate certifications according to market, environmental or industrial regulations in each different country.
Related equipment
Types of equipment and accessories related to the operation of pulse valves include:
- Pulse valve controllers are programmed sequentially or by differential pressure.
- Pulse valve controllers with built-in solenoid valves for remote control.
- Enclosure: Types of boxes containing coils that control pulse valves remotely.
- Types of coil fault and valve diaphragm leakage sensors.
- Compressed air tanks, compressed air pipes, connectors, valve diaphragms, replacement parts and accessories that help increase dust removal efficiency such as compressed air nozzles, venturi, air preparation filters to separate moisture and oil for compressed air, etc.
SmartPulse Controller
In the dust collection system, there are synchronous equipment solutions such as:
- Equipment and software for real-time monitoring, fault diagnosis, leak detection, backup data storage, intelligent automatic control.
- Types of sensors such as: pressure sensors, level sensors, dust and exhaust gas concentration sensors,…
ASCO is a typical leading case in operational monitoring solutions, fault and leak diagnosis, especially for equipment in the dust filtration system such as: valves and valve membranes, solenoid coils, dust filter bags. These solutions often use measuring devices and sensors to detect pressure differences, compressed air leaks, dust concentrations in exhaust pipes, humidity in compressed air, statistical measurements of the efficiency ratio between compressed air tank pressure and peak pressure, between the total amount of compressed air passing through the valve per pulse and the number of bags cleaned through each valve, etc.
ASCO’s intelligent monitoring and control solutions are capable of seamless connection with other control systems such as PLC, DSC, HMI, SCADA.
The above solutions and devices are all related to the dust removal performance of the system in general and the performance of the dust removal valve in particular.
Other classifications of dust-removing pulse valves
In addition, there are several ways to classify diaphragm pulse valves depending on the technical requirements, scope of use, operating conditions, and replacement options of each manufacturer. For example:
- Valves with 2-stage (2 diaphragms) or 1-stage (1 diaphragm) structure.
- Diaphragm valves with springs or piston diaphragms without springs.
- Valves with special explosion-proof solenoid coils.
- Valves with stainless steel valve covers.
