Multiple-Cyclone Dust Collection System

A Multiple-cyclone separator, also known as a multi-cyclone, consists of several small component cyclones integrated into a single closed system with shared gas inlet and outlet. The system separates dust using these component cyclones. With their small diameters and long bodies, these component cyclones generate greater centrifugal force, allowing them to filter finer particles compared to a conventional single-cyclone system.

In a plant-wide smoke and dust treatment system, the multiple-cyclone can be combined with other central processing systems, where it acts as a pre-treatment stage. It helps remove dust particles smaller than 10 microns and withstands high temperatures at the input, before the gas stream proceeds to the main central processing system.

Operating Principle of Multiple-Cyclone Dust Collection

The dust-laden gas stream at the input is pushed into the multiple-cyclone system via piping and distributed into the component cyclones.

In each component cyclone, the dust-laden gas enters tangentially to the cylinder and moves spirally, driven by centrifugal force. The gas stream hits the cone and is forced upward, continuing to spiral within the cylinder. Under the influence of centrifugal force, dust particles strike the inner walls of the device, lose their inertia and kinetic energy, separate from the gas stream, and fall to the bottom.

Clean gas exits through the clean air outlet, while the dust that falls to the bottom is collected at the base of the system, where a rotary valve is positioned to continuously transport the dust to a collection bin for proper processing.

  • Explosion isolation is detected during the early stages of an explosion inside the device, preventing fire spread.
  • The explosion isolation system prevents damage to technological equipment and protects human health and life.
  • The system operates based on highly sensitive sensors that detect an emerging explosion within milliseconds. The controller sends a signal to open valves. The pressure from the fire extinguisher pushes through special telescopic nozzles, ensuring effective dispersal of the extinguishing agent into the entire protected area, thereby controlling explosion pressure and minimizing side effects.
  • Within 0.001 seconds, the explosion isolation system can:
    + Detect pressure buildup leading to an explosion.
    + Discharge fire-suppressing chemicals into the space before explosion pressure escalates.
    + Remove heat from the flaring flame.
    + Lower the temperature below the ignition threshold.
    + Extinguish unburned particles and prevent heat transfer.
    + Protect assets and human life.
